Referrals and information is provided through Maryland Access Point (MAP) - Information & Assistance program to include, but not limited to: Dental Programs, Energy Assistance, and SNAP Benefits. CAREGIVERS
National Family Caregiver Support Program in Carroll County provides education, support, training, referrals, respite and supplemental services for caregivers of older adults and older relatives raising children under the age of 18.
CHRONIC CONDITIONS SELF-MANAGEMENT
Living Healthy, Living Well self-management program in Carroll County offers free workshops for those with chronic conditions, diabetes and chronic pain. This evidence-based curriculum has proven results. Living Healthy, Living Well Presentation 2021 (video)
COMMISSION
Commission on Aging & Disabilities represents the Bureau to advocate for the needs of Carroll County’s older adults, individuals with disabilities, and Veterans.
GUARDIANSHIP
Adult Public Guardianship Program protects Carroll County’s most vulnerable individuals. In addition, they provide resources and education on Adult Guardianship in Maryland.
HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES & SUPPORTS

INSURANCE/MEDICARE ASSISTANCE
Whether you need assistance in navigating Medicare (State Health Insurance Assistance Program - SHIP), preventing healthcare fraud (Senior Medicare Patrol - SMP), or affording Medicare (Medicare Savings Programs), the Bureau has programs available to support you. SHIP/SMP Presentation 2021 (video)
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Maryland Legal Aid Bureau provides free legal assistance to older adults via telephone or at onsite clinics at our local senior and community centers.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Durable Medical Equipment Loan closets and distribution centers are located in Carroll County and throughout Maryland.
