The Department of the County Attorney serves as in-house counsel to the Board of County Commissioners and all departments, bureaus, agencies, offices, boards, commissions, officers, employees, and any other entities funded by the Board of County Commissioners. The County Attorney provides legal advice on all matters affecting the County.
In addition, the County Attorney is responsible for real estate settlements, collection of delinquent accounts, zoning and building code violations, preparation of legal documents for subdivisions, and codification of County Laws.
The County Attorney cannot give legal advice to individuals; however, the County Attorney may serve as a resource for general questions about County government and County laws.
