Paid Leave (Annual, Sick, Personal, Holiday, Bereavement)
Annual Leave
Employees accrue annual leave at the rate of one-fifth of the employee’s weekly base hours based on length of service as follows:

Up to 60 days of unused annual leave may be carried over from one fiscal year to the next.
Sick Leave
Sick leave is accrued at the same rate as Annual Leave. Sick leave may also be used for illness of an employee’s child, dependent, spouse, parent, or other eligible immediate family members. There is no limit on the amount of sick leave accumulated and unused sick leave may be eligible to be paid in cash at retirement.
Personal Leave
Employees shall receive six (6) days of paid personal leave each fiscal year. Personal leave must be used by the last day of the last pay period in June of the fiscal year and cannot be carried forward to the next fiscal year.
Holiday Leave
Thirteen paid holidays are generally observed, subject to annual review by the Board of County Commissioners.
Bereavement
Employees receive bereavement leave upon the death of an immediate family member, not to exceed three (3) regularly scheduled workdays or five, if travel requires an overnight stay.
