New or replacement signs are required to have a building permit application submitted along with plans showing the location, design, and size of the sign. Construction plans for freestanding type signs shall also include foundation and wind design requirements. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall also be submitted by a Carroll County Registered Electrician. Signs within Municipalities

Hampstead - Contact 410-374-2761. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

Manchester - Contact 410-239-3200. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

Mount Airy - Contact 410-795-6012. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

New Windsor - Contact 410-635-6575. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

Sykesville - Contact 410-795-8959. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

Taneytown - Freestanding signs require permitting through the County as outlined above; however, please contact the City at 410-751-1100 for wall-mounted signs.

Union Bridge - Contact 410-775-1095. If electrical work is being performed, an electrical application shall be submitted to the County by a Carroll County Registered Electrician.

Westminster - Freestanding signs require permitting through the County as outlined above; however, please contact the City at 410-848-9000 for wall-mounted signs.
