GENERAL INFORMATION

Impact Fees are charged to offset the burden that new development creates on schools and parks. Impact Fees are to be levied on all Building Permits applications for new residential dwelling units and must be paid in full prior to the issuance of a building permit. Currently, there are not any impact fees for commercial development.

IMPACT FEES EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2023

Residential

Impact fees apply to all new dwelling/living units created in Carroll County.

The impact fee will not apply to dwelling/living units that were occupied after march of 1989 and are being removed and replaced on the same parcel.

Apartments or dwelling/living units created in or over an existing detached building will be charged the single family impact fee.
