Renee Schoff
Renee Schoff is the Piney Run Recreation and Conservation Council 2024 Volunteer of the Year. Although her official title for the council is Treasurer, Renee is dedicated to serving the council, the Nature Center, and the park in a much greater capacity. She is an outstanding example of service and truly the most hardworking volunteer at Piney Run.
As treasurer, Renee carefully manages the Council funds and budget to support special projects, maintenance of the Council’s kayak fleet, and care for the resident animals including food, vet visits and new habitats. She led fundraising efforts to support construction of the new aviary in 2020. In fact, Renee is always on the lookout for fundraising opportunities to support these missions. In the past few years she completed the paperwork needed to set up the Council as a 501c3 organization and she revised the Council bylaws to meet new county requirements. She is an amazing asset to the Council in her role as treasurer and is always helping the Council utilize their money in the smartest of ways.
Renee maintains open communication with the Council members, Piney Run Park staff, and Carroll County Recreation & Parks Department. She works with park management and the county to coordinate our efforts during day-to-day operations and special events.
