Brent Talley

Brent Talley is the coordinator of the Mount Airy Youth Athletic Association’s (“MAYAA”) soccer clinic program, the in-house second grade program, and the Recreational and Select Travel soccer teams. When not coordinating these programs or refereeing games, Brent finds the time to take the lead for field maintenance and field preparation. Brent has been active and instrumental in these activities for over ten (10) years as the MAYAA soccer program has experienced sustained growth season by season. Without his endless effort, the MAYAA soccer program would not be as successful as it has become both on and off the field. Brent’s efforts organizing and running the program’s end of season tournaments go far beyond what one person should have to do. During this time you will find him painting the fields, fixing nets, setting up concessions all while being the Field Marshall during the tournament. Brent was instrumental in creating MAYAA’s first and second grade in-house program and has worked with other organizations to establish similar programs for their organizations using the knowledge he gained in establishing our program. All of these efforts are being done while having four children who are active in various other sports. The MAYAA program is proud to have Brent as our 2024 “Volunteer of the Year.”
