Residential Only Hazardous Waste Collection, Medication / Sharps Disposal, and Document Shredding Event
Westminster, MD, Monday, March 16, 2026 - Carroll County Government Division of Solid Waste and Recycling Operations is sponsoring a residential-only Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 8 a.m. – noon. The event will take place at the Carroll County Vehicle Maintenance Facility, 1250 Old Meadow Branch Road in Westminster.
Carroll County residents can drop off select household items that are corrosive, toxic, flammable, or reactive, as well as medications and sharps, for safe disposal. Residents can also shred, on-site, a maximum of three (3) banker’s boxes (approx. 24”x15”x10”) or bags (or equivalent volume) of sensitive papers. Document shredding is available until the truck is full.

The Carroll County Health Department (CCHD) will also offer a drive-through drop-off for residents to dispose of medications (no liquids) and sharps (syringes, etc.).
