Westminster, MD, Monday, February 10, 2025 – This week Economic Development and Tourism representatives and stakeholders will visit the state’s capital to recognize Economic Development Day in Annapolis on February 12th and Tourism Day in Annapolis on February 14th.

Held during the current legislative session, this day is an opportunity to engage with key officials on issues impacting related activities in Carroll County and share county highlights and initiatives relevant to Maryland’s economy. Staff will connect with local legislators, observe hearings in the State House, and learn more about economic development and tourism-related legislation that the 2025 Maryland General Assembly will consider. Representatives will also connect with staff from other jurisdictions during the day.

“It is an important time for industry professionals to connect with legislators about economic development and tourism priorities, particularly in light of budgetary concerns and program changes,” said Director of Economic Development, Denise Beaver. “I will continue to work with our regional, state, and association partners to advocate for sound business policies and minimal fiscal impacts”.
