Westminster, MD, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 – Last Thursday, the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DFEMS) held a pinning ceremony at Winters Mill High School, recognizing seven promotions and appointments as well as 67 new hires for the 2024 calendar year.

Chief Robinson shared, “tonight signifies affirming an oath of office and accepting the “badge of honor” that will distinguish each of you among your peers as leaders and trailblazers as the initial departmental workforce.” “I challenge each of you to remain passionate, dedicated, and committed to your profession.”

The evening also included presentation of the colors, an Invocation, remarks by Commissioner Ed Rothstein, the swearing-in of Personne,l and finally, the anticipated badge pinning. The pinning ceremony is a special tradition in the DFEMS and includes each participant having a loved one join them on stage to pin their badge to their shirt. The employees are also sworn in during the ceremony.
