State Highway Route 91 Bridge Project Complete Ahead of Schedule
Westminster, MD, Thursday, December 19, 2024 – According to a State Highway Administration (SHA) press release, the SHA will reopen the MD 91 (Emory Rd) bridge over the north branch of the Patapsco River and the bridge over the Maryland Midland Railroad in Finksburg, Carroll County to traffic on Friday, December 20th.
The Carroll County Board of Commissioners (Board) appreciates the SHA for working diligently to complete this long-awaited project one month ahead of schedule. The renovation project is expected to be fully completed in the summer of 2025. The SHA press release notes “most of the remaining work involves stormwater management improvements and may require occasional single-lane closures with a flagging operation. Any lane restrictions will be performed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be given priority through the roadway.”
Motorists can, once again, travel northbound and southbound (weather permitting) on MD 91 beginning at 8 am on Friday. The board expresses its deepest gratitude to all residents of Carroll County and motorists from surrounding areas for their cooperation and patience while 91 was closed.
Please, keep your eyes on the road and travel safely.
