Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project- Public Information Session
Westminster, MD, Monday, July 8, 2024 – A public Information session about the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP) will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Westminster Senior Center located at 125 Stoner Ave, Westminster, Md 21157.
The MPRP is an electrical grid enhancement plan authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and PJM, the regional electric grid operator across 13 states including Maryland.
The Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), a regulated infrastructure company focused on a clean energy future, has been awarded the project by PJM. In late June, PSEG announced a public engagement process including the launch of a website and the announcement of holding public information sessions throughout the region.
The board of county commissioners continues to learn about this project and recommends constituents attend one of the information sessions for a more in-depth conversation with PSEG, the administrators of the project.
