Residents Should Maintain Snow Stakes
Westminster, MD, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 – As part of Carroll County’s winter storm preparation, every year the Department of Public Works Bureau of Roads Operations (ROADS) places snow stakes along county roadways to assist snowplow drivers with identifying the edge of the roadway. These stakes are very important for the safety of the drivers as well as helping to reduce property damage to residents’ yards and marking roadway pipes for the county’s storm drain system. Carroll County residents are asked to keep all county-placed snow stakes in their original placement. Please do not remove them or transplant them to private driveways. The stakes will be removed after the winter storm season.
Residents that see the stakes being removed, notice damaged stakes or have questions, please call ROADS at 410-386-6717 or submit the information to See Click Report on the county’s website.
The county thanks all our customers for their assistance and understanding with this process.
