Westminster, MD, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 Beginning October 28th, the Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD) will offer a free virtual workshop entitled Living Healthy, Living Well with Chronic Conditions.

The Chronic Conditions Self-Management workshop is a series of sessions for adults of all ages who have on-going health problems, such as chronic pain, arthritis, cancer, heart disease or who live with someone that does.  The workshop consists of six sessions, held virtually, on Mondays, beginning October 28th, 2024, from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based self-management program that has proven health benefits and complements the medical management services people receive from providers.

Living Healthy, Living Well workshops offer a hands-on opportunity to discover solutions that work with life, health concerns, and pain. With support in a Living Healthy, Living Well program, attendees can build confidence to make new choices and feel better. Participants create weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems in creating and implementing their personal self-management program.

The BOAD is pleased to offer this virtual program, at no cost, to those 60 years of age and older, and a small fee to those 59 and younger. If a lack of technology prevents interested participants from joining the online BOAD and senior center programs, please contact Victoria Parks at 410-386-3800 for assistance.
