Sykesville, MD, Monday, February 6, 2023 – Be advised that a broken sewer main in a wooded area south of Abraham Court in Sykesville was reported to the Carroll County Bureau of Utilities on Saturday, February 4, 2023.  Repairs to the system were completed on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

It is estimated that approximately 500,000 gallons of wastewater were released into the environment.  Site cleanup continues at this time.  Be further advised that representatives from both the Carroll County Health Department and the Maryland Department of the Environment visited the site earlier today and both representatives are satisfied with the cleanup efforts underway.
